Academics
Joining a sorority in college is a life-changing experience, but garnering an education is the top priority for Kappa. This is why each chapter is expected to maintain academic standards equal to or higher than their university’s or college’s all-sorority GPA. Additionally, each chapter establishes a GPA requirement for active members.
If a Kappa struggles academically, we help her through it. The Academic Excellence Team meets with her to craft an improvement plan using study tactics and time management. We want each sister to leave college with what they came for: a degree.
As a chapter, we also strive for academic excellence. On a smaller scale, each week we offer prizes to recognize our sisters' achievements on academic tasks. On-campus, we host Professor's Tea each semester to interact with professors in a more relaxed environment. We also have a study room in our house for members use as a collaborative space to do work!
During the fraternity's 2014 Academic Excellence Month, Zeta Rho participated in a Kappa International Study Competition. We were awarded second place with 114 hours per girl overall throughout the month, right behind Beta Psi at the University of Toronto who had 116 hours per girl. All of our achievements align with both Zeta Rho's goals and those of Kappa Kappa Gamma to create strong foundations of friendship, leadership, and community.
